As ears are a prominent part of our head, too prominent, asymmetric or disfigured ears catch one’s eye. In these cases, an Otoplasty is a very beneficial surgery.
Ear reduction or ear pinning surgery is a routine corrective surgery in childhood, best performed at the age of 4 to 5. Nevertheless, we meet often adults with prominent ears, who suffer from this condition, but there is no age limit for a corrective ear surgery.
It can be performed conveniently in local anesthesia at Aestheticon®. The angle of the ear to the head can be corrected as well as creation of a natural ant helix fold. The results are permanent and once healed properly, do not require further procedures.
The healing time is usually 2 weeks and the ears should be protected with a head band during this time.
Further common ear procedures are the correction of earlobes and torn earlobes.
